Program Description:

Augie students study at Exeter

Our International Summer School programme includes accommodation on campus, an orientation trip in London, entertaining social events in Exeter and cultural day trips. We have 3 new courses for 2018 and are very excited to introduce Penryn, one of our incredible Cornwall campuses, into the International Summer School with tailored courses suited specifically to the location and environment.

Academic Overview
Our 2018 programme is running in two sessions with the following courses available:  We also offer accommodation on campus, a social programme which gives students a chance to see London and explore the south-west of England and provide comprehensive pastoral support to our students.

Campus
The International Summer School is based on two different University of Exeter campuses, with different courses offered from each.

Exeter
The majority of the International Summer School courses are based at the Streatham Campus in Exeter, which is widely acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful in the UK.
The campus has excellent facilities to support your studies and time in Exeter which include:
  • The Forum was opened by the Queen in 2012 and is at the heart of the Streatham Campus. It houses the library, shops, cafes and learning spaces equipped with the very latest innovative technology
  • The Northcott Theatre
  • Banks and cashpoints (ATMs)
  • The Sports Park including running trails and an outdoor swimming pool
  • A Student Health Centre
  • Christian and Muslim prayer rooms (please see the Chaplaincy site for more information)
Some of our Streatham based courses also offer the opportunity to visit another of our Exeter campuses, St Lukes, as some academic sessions take place in our Medical School and Medical Sciences buildings.

Cornwall
Some of our courses specialising in the environment or literature take place at one of our Cornwall campuses; Penryn. The campus is set in the countryside, close to the seaside town of Falmouth, in a region of the South West renowned for its natural beauty and resources.
We offer some of our courses on this campus as they link directly to the natural setting or resources of Cornwall, which allows the course to integrate with its surroundings.
Like our Streatham campus, Penryn has excellent facilities for you to enjoy during your study time in Cornwall. These include:
  • The Exchange building, which houses lecture theatres, study space and the library
  • The Science and Engineering Research Support Facility, a £5.5 million development putting the university at the forefront of research in to solutions of the problem of environmental change
  • A recently developed Sports Centre including gym facilities.
  • The Heart building, with bars, shops and cafes.
The total cost for the programme, including tuition, accommodation and the social programme is:
£2350 (approximately $3230) per Session- Self Catering, including Breakfast (please note that the shared kitchens in accommodation include a cooker, microwave and kettle and basic kitchen equipment is provided.  Each kitchen is shared with 6 other students. There are also lots of options of places to eat near campus.  The nearest is a 15 minute walk, or there are options to have takeaway deliveries or buy ready-made food on campus or in town during the day).

£4200 (approximately $5775) for Session 1 and Session 2 - Self Catering, including Breakfast (Please note that 6 week students will have a trip to Bath on transfer day and will be invited to join the second London Adventure, at the end of Session 2).
