  Edge Hill 6
Program Overview
Nestled between the historic market town of Ormskirk and rolling green fields in North West England, Edge Hill University’s beautiful campus is just 25 minutes outside the city centre of culturally diverse Liverpool, and 40 minutes to the bright lights of Manchester.

During your stay at Edge Hill University, you’ll be able to mix with students from all over the world, take in the lakes and scenery on campus, and relax in the cutting-edge sports complex, Sporting Edge. Studying in a foreign country can be both a daunting and life-changing experience, so the International Team and academic staff will provide you with dedicated support, from Welcome and Orientation to program completion. You’ll be living in on-campus accommodation, with your own room as well as shared bathrooms and kitchens to chat with new friends.

When you’re not busy broadening your mind, you’ll broaden your horizons with excursions to beautiful places like Manchester, historical York and Chester, Conwy Castle in Wales and the breath-taking Lake District.

AcademicsEdge Hill 4
The Study Abroad Program at Edge Hill is a program for students who wish to study in the UK at Edge Hill University for one or two semesters. Students remain enrolled at their home institution and will achieve UK credit at the end of their studies at Edge Hill to transfer to their home institution degree program.

Most undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) are open to Study Abroad students. They also offer courses in the Faculties of Health and Education.
You select your own program of study (subject to availability of courses and timetabling constraints).

You should select classes that:
  • are relevant to your studies
  • will fulfill your academic requirements at your home institution
We will advise you about your selections and will not approve classes that are inappropriate for you. When necessary we liaise with academic advisors at home campuses to ensure that students meet the prerequisites for Edge Hill University classes.

Students should visit Edge Hill University Study Abroad Catalogue to review course offerings that are most current and course credit information. Selections are reviewed by the academic coordinator at Edge Hill prior to departure. During the semester, the coordinator will monitor your performance to ensure that you have a successful academic experience.
edge hill 3Housing
All Edge Hill's study abroad students live on campus, in the dorms with British students and receive a meal plan for on-campus dining, to ensure maximum opportunity to discover what it is really like to be a student in UK higher education. And don't expect the room next door to have an American occupant - Edge Hill always tries to ensure that US students are well-mixed in with the British!

You will have access to a fully fitted kitchen and all cooking utensils so you will be able to prepare your own meals with your friends, however, you will also have a meal plan that provides up to 12 meals per week. There are various catering outlets available on campus and a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops in Ormskirk town centre (10 minutes’ walk).

The cost for tuition, room, and board for the Fall 2019 semester is $11,690, and for the Spring 2020 semester is $11,965. This fee does NOT include airfare, spending money, books, or additional meals.  See the Costs and Finances section of Augustana's StudioAbroad site for further details. To request a complete cost estimate, click Request Advising above.
