Academic Overview
Edge Hill University offers a wide range of courses, many of which are very relevant to international students looking to study in the UK, that combine innovation in teaching with the latest facilities and resources to support your learning.  Edge Hill offers courses across all subject areas in three different faculties:  Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Health and Social Care.  Popular subject areas include business, management, English literature, film, geography, history, psychology and theatre.  Education majors can also participate in a field experience where they can explore the British education system first-hand by spending one day per week observing classes in a local school.  Students on the Study Abroad program are fully integrated into the domestic student body, following the same lectures, seminars and tutorials as British and other international students, and are able to select from a full listing of modules (classes).

Edge Hill University is located in the town of Ormskirk in the heart of northwest England.  Ormskirk is a beautiful and friendly 12th century market town 20 minutes from the city center of Liverpool and 40 minutes from Manchester.  The region provides opportunities for a wide range of culture and leisure pursuits including live music, theatre, sports, dance, walking, the arts, and shopping.  Nearby you can also find the beautiful hillside villages in the Lake District, the friendly towns along the Irish Sea and the traditional seaside villages in North Wales.  Covering 160 acres, the spacious, landscaped grounds at Edge Hill combine original buildings and gardens from the 1930s with fantastic modern spaces in which to study and socialize.  Recent additions to the campus include a modern Student Hub which opened in 2011, a lakeside Faculty of Health facility and state-of-the-art residence halls featuring en-suite rooms equipped with plasma TV screens and PCs.  Visit  for a short video.  Edge Hill's Study Abroad program includes airport pick-up and return from Manchester International Airport.

Students are housed in single dorm rooms on campus while living amongst British students.  Living in the dorms with the British students is a great opportunity to make friends and experience British culture.  A flexible meal plan is included that allows 12-15 meals per week on campus.

The cost for tuition, room and board (12-15 meals per week) for the Spring 2013 semester is $10,900.  All Augustana College students receive a $500 scholarship which reduces the cost to $10,400.  This fee does NOT include airfare, spending money, books, or additional meals.  See the Costs and Finances section of Augustana's StudioAbroad site for further details.  To request a complete cost estimate, click Request Advising above.
