You can conduct several types of searches on this site.

Simple Search
In Simple Search, you can conduct a search of approved  study abroad programs by region (continent), country, city, term (e.g. Fall Semester) or program name. Simple Search is the fastest and easiest way to find all programs that are located in a certain country or city, or all programs that are running during a particular term such as January Interim.

You can conduct a simple search if you click here or click Programs in the upper right corner of any page.

Advanced Search

The advanced search function allows you to search on the following additional parameters.  Descriptions of each parameter can be found on the Advanced Search page by clicking on the info icon information icon next to each parameter.

  • Class Eligibility
  • Minimum GPA
  • Program Type
  • Language of Instruction
  • Language Courses Offered
  • Housing Options
  • Course Leader
  • Program Provider
  • Areas of Study
  • Academic Prerequisites
  • Fulfills Gen Ed Requirements
  • Major/Minor Credit
  • Volunteer Opportunities
Use this search function if you are looking for a specific type of program.  For example, if you want to find a program that will satisfy Gen Ed Area 3.6, select Area 3.6 on the Fulfills Gen Ed Requirement parameter and click search.  You'll get a short listing of all available courses that satisfy Gen Ed Area 3.6.

The advanced search function can be accessed by clicking here, or by clicking on Programs in the upper right corner of any page, and then selecting Advanced Search near the center of the page.

Map Search
A map search will start you off with a view of a world map.  You first click on the continent you're interested in visiting.  Using a series of clicks, you further refine and narrow your search until icons marking approved programs in that geographical area of the world appear.  Clicking on each icon will give you a clickable listing of approved programs in that particular city.

List All
The list all search will simply provide you with an alphabetical listing by title of all approved programs on this StudioAbroad site.
